Wabaseemoong Independent Nations is seeking a dedicated, organized, and client-focused individual to join our team as an Ontario Works Case Worker.

Position Summary

The Ontario Works Case Worker is responsible for supporting individuals and families by determining eligibility for social assistance and assisting clients in working toward employment and greater stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview applicants and recipients to assess eligibility for social assistance programs
  • Review income, assets, and personal circumstances to determine initial and ongoing eligibility
  • Issue financial assistance in accordance with legislation, policies, and program guidelines
  • Develop individualized case plans and employment/career goal plans with clients
  • Support clients in achieving employment readiness and self-sufficiency
  • Make referrals to community agencies and support services
  • Provide ongoing case management and monitor client progress
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation within computerized case management systems
  • Manage and maintain organized caseloads

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Social Services, Human Services, Social Work, Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working in case management, income assistance, employment services, or related programs is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of confidentiality requirements and professional ethics
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Computer proficiency and experience with case management systems is an asset

Salary

Starting at $55,000 annually
(Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.)
