An opioid overdose can happen quickly. Have naloxone ready and know the signs:
- Very small (pinpoint) pupils in eyes.
- Slow or shallow breathing or not breathing.
- Gurgling or choking noises.
- Cold, clammy skin.
- Blue or purple lips and nails.
- A limp body.
- A slow or weak pulse.
Give naloxone and call 911 if you suspect an overdose.
Naloxone is available at the community health clinic and is an important part of harm reduction. Carry it. Know how to use it. Help save a life.
