It Takes a Community to Help Our Children Grow.
On behalf of Wabaseemoong Independent Nations Chief and Council, we welcome all of our students back to school! We also recognize and encourage care providers, parents, teachers and school staff as they prepare for another school year.
Education is an important part of building a foundation of learning for our children and our community. Every day at school matters. Regular attendance, arriving ready to learn, completing schoolwork, getting enough rest and beginning the day with a healthy meal all help our children grow in confidence, knowledge and success.
Remember, our children learn not only in the classroom, but through the knowledge, teachings and ways passed down by our families, Elders and community. It is our shared responsibility to nurture their minds, spirits and gifts as they grow.
Whether it is making sure they attend school each day, helping with homework, sharing our teachings, or celebrating their accomplishments, we all have an important role to play.
When we work together to support and encourage our children, we help them walk forward with pride in who they are, confidence in what they can achieve, and the knowledge they need for a strong tomorrow.
We also send a shout out to all those mature students finishing their studies, those who are pursuing the trades /apprenticeship or those heading on to post-secondary education.
We are proud of you all and wish you success in your journey!
