From the Office of Chief and Council (August 7, 2026)
Wabaseemoong leadership would like to extend condolences to our members who are and have experienced loss of loved ones.
The amount of our beloved members loss has prompted leadership to reach out to members during this difficult time.
The leadership have been working diligently in responding to the needs identified by its members.
Chief has requested mobilization of crisis teams from Kenora Chiefs Advisory to be available. Services are being organized with partnership with our community services. Information will be posted on how members can access these services.
A special Band meeting is scheduled for Sunday August 9, 2026 beginning at 12 noon. Community members are welcome to come to be part of the discussions for a path forward to healing during this difficult time.
