TIP FOR MANAGING YOUR CHILD’S STRESS/ANXIETY:
Stress and anxiety are hard for children and affects learning, health, and development. Anxiety can show up in different ways for children – especially when going back to school.
WATCH FOR:
- Recurring stomach aches or headaches
- Trouble falling asleep or disrupted sleep
- Feeling tired even after enough sleep
- Increased clinginess or difficulty separating
- Irritability or big reactions to small things
- Pulling away from friends or favourite activities
- Difficulty concentrating or a sudden drop in grades
- Returning to younger behaviours, such as thumb-sucking or bedwetting
