The communities of Wabaseemoong Independent Nations came together on May 14–15, 2026, to celebrate Treaty Days, welcoming members, families, and visitors for two days of culture, sharing, and celebration.

Treaty Days officially began with opening ceremonies attended by Chief Rollie Fisher and Council, members of the RCMP, and local law enforcement representatives, who gathered alongside community members to mark the significance of the occasion. As part of the Treaty Day traditions and commitments recognized through Treaty, the Chief of Wabaseemoong was presented with a fishing net before the annual treaty annuity payments were distributed, including the symbolic five-dollar treaty payment to members of the Nation.

Throughout the two-day event, attendees enjoyed a wide range of activities and gatherings, including an Elder Zone, Kids Zone. Community breakfast. The ATV Poker Rally and live entertainment also brought excitement and energy to the celebrations.

The baseball tournaments were a major highlight of the festivities, drawing teams and supporters together in the spirit of friendly competition. Wabaseemoong congratulated all participating teams, with special recognition given to the 1st through 4th place winners for their efforts and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The Treaty Days celebrations concluded with finale entertainment by Chester Knight, helping to close out the event in a memorable way.
